May Day Morris Dancing 2024
Woodchurch Morris’ 250th year kicked off at The Green in the village, the new season greeted by a gorgeous sunrise and a mackerel sky.
After a delightful breakfast at The Six Bells we stopped by Woodchurch Primary School to entertain the kids for 20 mins, ably assisted by Woody, the side’s horse. Onwards to Rye for the rest of the day for a walking tour about the town where a jolly time was had by all.
Thank You
Many thanks to The Cinque Ports, The George Hotel, The Ship, Marinos Fish & Chips and The Waterworks where we ended our trip with a few songs and few more ales. Many thanks to Julian and the Scout Bus for shipping us in and shipping us out.
An excellent start to our season.
About the Authors
Woodchurch Morris started dancing together in 1990. We are proud to perpetuate this ancient tradition that was once “Merrie England” personified. We support venues where our dancing may help to raise money for local charities or indeed anywhere if there is a chance of free beer. Wood Church Morris make contributions to charities of our choice and our collection goes a long way to help with our donations.
